Targeting Access and Knowledge of EITC Utilization and Policies (TAKE-UP)

The Targeting Access and Knowledge of EITC Utilization and Policies (TAKE-UP) Study aims to  test the feasibility of several culturally tailored, scalable interventions to increase the number of recipients of the earned income tax credit (EITC) among participants in the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Researchers will conduct rigorous pre-testing via survelys to develop and establish the acceptability of culturally tailored approaches to achieve behavioral health equity by increasing EITC take-up. These results will inform the next phase of the project, in which we will conduct a pilot study to test the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of these interventions—and combinations thereof—to achieve behavioral health equity by increasing EITC take-up. Outcomes include EITC take-up as well as behavioral health (i.e., anxiety, depression, smoking, and alcohol use).
